The weather dominated the Woodie’s DIY Combined Events championships at
Morton Stadium on Saturday. An absolute deluge of rain turned the infield
area into a sea of water, with the track also ankle deep in water, causing
the abandonment of some events. Sunday’s action saw several showers but
not enough to disrupt the superb action that all the athletes produced,
with some thrilling competition held in a mixture of sunshine and showers.
The biggest problem on the second day was the flooded nearby M50 with many
officials and athletes delayed by over an hour spent sitting in their
cars.
